How it works & how to apply it

The building the vehicle sits in matters as much as the vehicle. Overhead doors seal badly at the bottom corners and that is the standard way into a garage. Treat the building perimeter and you protect everything inside it at once.

1·2·3 How to apply it

Start at the overhead door. Brush both bottom corners and along the base of the jamb on each side.
Run a continuous band along the sill plate where the framing meets the slab, inside the perimeter.
Treat the threshold of every side door and any gap around utility penetrations through the wall.
Finish with the bases of workbenches, shelving uprights and stored equipment.

✓ Things to consider

A four-inch roller makes short work of a long sill plate; a brush is better at the door corners.
The gel dries clear on concrete, wood and metal, so it will not show on a finished garage.
Bird seed, pet food and grass seed stored in the same building will undo your work. Move them to sealed containers.

✕ Things to avoid

Do not coat the moving face of the door weatherstrip, only the frame and the corners it seals against.
Do not apply to a walking surface. It stays tacky enough to pick up grit underfoot.
Do not treat a garage that already has an active infestation without dealing with that first.
