1·2·3 How to apply it

1. Coat the trailer tongue, frame rails and spring hangers first; that is the route up from the ground.
2. Open the console and battery compartment and treat the perimeter of each cable pass-through.
3. Brush around the engine cowling seam and the rigging tube where cables enter the hull.
4. Treat any drain plug openings, live-well penetrations and bilge access points.

✓ Things to consider

• Do this before the cover goes on. A covered boat is warmer and more attractive, not less.
• The gel is water resistant once set, which suits open yard storage and high humidity.
• Check the cover itself for gaps at the bow and transom; those are the routes in.

✕ Things to avoid

• Keep gel off the propeller, prop shaft, trim rams and any polished or anodized display surface.
• Do not coat engine cooling water intakes or exhaust outlets.
• Do not apply to fabric or vinyl upholstery, canvas covers or clear enclosure panels.
