How it works & how to apply it

Safety codes require these compartments to vent, so they cannot be sealed shut. That leaves a dry, sheltered, draft-free box with a floor opening, which reads to a rodent as an ideal nest. A perimeter band keeps it a compartment rather than a home.

1·2·3 How to apply it

Open every exterior bay and clear out stored acorns, shredded paper and nesting material.
Inspect battery cables and generator wiring for chewed insulation before you treat anything.
Brush a two to three inch band of gel around the entire floor perimeter of each bay.
Coat heavily around cable entry grommets, propane line penetrations and the vent openings themselves.

✓ Things to consider

Chewed cable insulation is a fire risk. Repair it before the vehicle goes into storage.
Do this bay by bay and close each one as you finish, so nothing moves back in behind you.
A quart covers the battery, propane and generator bays on a typical rig with product to spare.

✕ Things to avoid

Do not block or coat over a required vent opening. Treat the frame around it, not the hole.
Keep gel off the propane regulator, the pigtail hoses and the tank valve.
Do not coat battery terminals or the top of the battery case.
