How to apply Repel Gel

A chip brush and twenty minutes. No licensing, no respirator, no special tools. Below is every place worth treating, with what to do, what to think about, and what to keep the gel away from.

The basics

Four steps, every time

01

Prep the surface

Brush off loose dirt, mud or salt with a dry nylon brush or shop towel. The surface should be dry. No degreasing or pressure washing is required.

02

Pick your tool

A 2–3 inch chip brush for grommets, seams and rails; a 4-inch mini roller for belly pans and long runs; an airless or undercoating gun for fleet shops.

03

Apply a heavy coat

Lay down a thick, continuous bead or band. Around wires and pipes, build a ¼-inch collar all the way around the opening. Gaps in the barrier are where pests get through.

04

Let it set

Repel Gel is dry to the touch in about an hour and cures clear. Reseal the container and store it upright between 40°F and 90°F.

Tools

Brush, roll or spray

🖌️

Chip brush (2–3 in)

The go-to for grommets, seams, thresholds and frame rails. Gives precise control with no overspray.

🧻

Mini roller (4 in)

Fast coverage along sill plates, rim joists, belly pans and long straight runs. Use a tray and a heavy nap.

💨

Spray (shops & fleets)

Airless sprayers (0.019–0.023 in tip) or undercoating guns at 40–60 PSI for treating many units per day.
